Company History

The Space Coast Ballet Company is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization whose mission is committed to presenting a unique vision of live performance to the Space Coast community, sparing no detail to achieve perfection in every area of the production.   Space Coast Ballet Company is not a dance studio and not associated with any dance studio.  It is a community, non profit, group that brings  together performers from the Space Coast community with acclaimed professionals all over the world to rehearse and create a spectacular performance for Central Florida.

In 2002, a vision to share the joy of dance, in addition to inspiring and enriching the Brevard community through excellence in ballet, was created.  In December of 2003, the curtains opened on the stage of the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, FL to present The Nutcracker.   This annual classical version of a holiday favorite contains sets that have been handcrafted in Russia.  Principal dancers from around the world are joined on stage by dancers from our local Space Coast community, performing in  roles such as, party scene, mice, soldiers, snow queens, snowflakes, angels, butterflies, ginger bon bons, flower waltz, and other soloist roles.

In the years to follow, The Space Coast Ballet Company presented Sleeping BeautySpartacus, and the International Dance Festival in conjunction with Youth America Grand Prix to the Space Coast Community, supporting the mission and vision for the company.
